Destination Wedding with Ashley and Shawn
I met Ashley and Shawn for the first time when I took their engagement photos at Chicago Cubs Home – The Wrigley Field.
For the wedding, Ashley and Shawn travelled from Illinois to have their wedding at the Lodge at Brother’s Cove in Tennessee. The venue is situated on 450 acres with great view over Smoky Mountains and it can be accessed from Sevierville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.
Ashley did get ready with her mom and bridesmaids in her own cabin, which was in top of the mountain. Shawn and the groomsmen were getting ready in their cabin at the bottom of the mountain. I thought that it was funny to drive to the top of the mountain then back to the bottom and up again! Lucky that I took the Subaru in this trip and it did not disappoint! ☺
We had a lot of fun taking wedding pictures. They decided to not see each other until Ashley was walking down the aisle. Ashley and Shawn did a first touch and gift exchange without seeing each other. It was an emotional moment for everybody that assist.
The ceremony took place outside near the lodge. The site offered a beautiful background with the mountains in most of the view. There was a guitar player that made the ambient feel like a movie set.
These two had an awesome bridal party that was game for anything and everything. I love these shots we got of the whole crew and the portraits with the Smoky Mountains in background! I could photograph there every weekend! It’s so inspiring.
The reception was inside the lodge and is pretty amazing too. Ashley and Shawn, both their families, and the wedding party were all so kind and so much fun to work with! I loved getting to spend the day with them all.
I will never grow tired of destination weddings, especially when they’re done so impeccably like this one. Congratulations again on your wedding, you two, and may your years be filled with happiness!!!
