Susan & Chuck – A Beautiful, Intimate Wedding by the Fox River in Algonquin
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in Algonquin that will forever hold a special place in my heart. The ceremony took place at the stunning St. Margaret Mary Church, followed by an unforgettable reception at Port Edwards, a lovely venue nestled by the Fox River.
From the moment I met the couple a few weeks back, I was captivated by their story and connection. This was a second marriage for both, and you could feel the deep love and gratitude they shared for each other. Susan’s two beautiful children were part of the bridal party, which made the day all the more special. They kept things intimate, inviting only their closest friends and family to share this moment with them.
After the heartwarming ceremony, we captured family portraits before heading to the scenic Fox River for some breathtaking wedding photos. The natural beauty of the river provided the perfect backdrop, and it was wonderful to see the couple so relaxed and in love during their portraits.
While their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour at Port Edwards, Susan and her new husband arrived in true style—sailing up the Fox River on their boat! The applause from their loved ones as they docked was a moment filled with pure joy. From that point on, the celebration kicked off with vibrant energy.
The reception was full of heartfelt speeches, delicious food, and lively tunes, courtesy of DJ Paul Michaels, who kept the dance floor packed. The entire day flowed smoothly thanks to the expert coordination of Lexee Gwaltney, the wedding coordinator who ensured every detail was perfect.
This wedding was a beautiful reminder of how love can bring people together, no matter the path. It was a joy to capture these memories for such a wonderful couple, and I feel truly honored to have been part of their special day.
Check out another unforgettable love story I captured at Port Edwards—filled with stunning riverside moments, heartfelt emotions, and a reception you won’t want to miss!
