Samuel and Faith – Winter Wedding at Ovation Chicago
I had the pleasure of meeting Samuel and Faith last year when Samuel contacted me to capture his long-planned surprise proposal to Faith in Peng Park in Chinatown. As a photographer, I was excited to be a part of such a special moment and to capture the raw emotion and love between the couple. It was a beautiful moment to witness and capture, and I was thrilled when the couple reached out to me again to capture their wedding day in Chicago.
Samuel and Faith’s wedding day in Chicago was filled with love, joy, and beautiful moments that will be cherished forever. The couple began their day with a first look at the stunning Ovation venue, where Samuel was overcome with emotion as he saw his bride for the first time. The couple then ventured into downtown Chicago for wedding portraits, stopping at iconic locations such as the Wrigley Building, Chicago Board of Trade, and LaSalle Bridge.
The couple also took some breathtaking photos with their Rolls Royce in the West Side.
Faith looked radiant in her traditional wedding dress, which she found on Etsy after searching for the exact dress she had seen on Pinterest. It was clear that Samuel was captivated by her beauty as they shared an intimate moment together during their first look. The couple’s love for each other was palpable throughout the day and they both spoke of the overwhelming happiness they felt during their special day.
After their wedding portraits, the couple returned to Ovation for their ceremony and reception. The venue was beautifully decorated with an elegant and romantic atmosphere, perfectly reflecting the couple’s personalities. The ceremony was filled with meaningful vows, personal touches, and the love of their family and friends.
The couple’s first dance was to Calum Scott’s song, “Biblical,” which set the tone for the rest of the evening. The father-daughter dance was a touching moment as they danced to the song “Half the Man,” while the mother-son dance was a fun and lively moment as they danced to “I Love This Dance” by Caleb Beachy.
Here are few questions I asked the couple:
1.) How did you two meet?
We met at church. Faith was speaking on stage and she caught my attention. I was determined to speak to her and met her for the first time when she finished speaking.
3.) What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
My favorite moment (bride) was when the curtain opened and I saw him standing there. It was like everything froze in time and I locked eyes with him and my heart has never felt more filled or happier.
My favorite moment (groom) was when I held my wife’s hand and glanced at the crowd, I felt genuine happiness and support from every single person there.
4.) How long have you been together?
We have been together 3.5 years, since September 2019
5.) How would you describe your overall wedding experience? From beginning to end, everything fell perfectly into place. From every vendor to the venue, it was our fairytale dream wedding, and we could not have been happier with how everything came together.
6.) What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Definitely make sure to allot enough time for all the pictures you want. Time moves by fast, you don’t want to have to sacrifice any of the photos you want because you ran out of time. Don’t forget to interact with every guest even if it means a quick thank you.
Samuel and Faith’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love, filled with memorable moments that will be cherished forever. Their advice to other couples planning a wedding is to make sure to allocate enough time for photos, and to interact with every guest, even if it’s just a quick thank you. Their wedding day was a dream come true, and their love story will continue to inspire and touch the hearts of those around them.
