Shelly and Joe – Wedding at W Chicago Lakeshore Hotel

As a wedding photographer I really enjoy the whole city vibe because it means you have a lot more elements to work with and great architecture at every step.

Shelly and Joe had their wedding at the W Chicago Hotel by Lakeshore Drive. W Chicago Lakeshore provides a brilliant backdrop for a Chicago wedding or ceremony. It is one of the wedding venues downtown Chicago with panoramic views towards Navy Pier and Hancock tower.

The terrace where the outdoor wedding ceremony takes place has Lake Michigan as the backdrop. Shelly and Joe got ready in the hotel then did a first look on the terrace.

From the W Hotel we walk to Milton Lee Olive Park. Despite the fact that the park was very close to the hotel, we couldn’t stay out too much as it was really windy and cold. The clouds poured over Chicago and gave it a dramatic feel. Thanks to the beautiful Chicago architecture and skyline I could really show off the city and incorporate W Chicago Hotel in the background.

As you can see in the images the day offered a dramatic look to the pictures. The ceremony itself took place at Chicago W Hotel on the terrace and the reception was at the same place, which made for some really spectacular shots.
