Spring Engagement with Vishal and Anika

Bright lights, towering buildings, smooth rain and the buzz of Chicago life – that’s what we had in store for us throughoutVishal and Anika’s vibrant engagement session last week. We hit the bustling streets of Chicago and I am so excited that we were able to use the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier as a backdrop, along with Chicago Theater, and the South Pond Pavilion at Chicago’s  Lincoln Park Zoo.

These two were full of energy, and I love that they wore fancy outfits. It was the perfect complement to the colorful, electric city backgrounds we were working with throughout the shoot.

Questions about the couple.

I’ve asked the couple few questions so we can find more about their story:
 1.)   How did you two meet?

Through Instagram!!! Vishal realized they had mutual connections and decided to contact Anika.  Fun fact: Chances are so slim to meet someone on Instagram and marry them.  In fact, it’s about 1 in 2 Million!!!

2.)   How did he propose?

Vishal proposed in Santa Barbara, California at the beach near Stearns Wharf.  

3.)   Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding! Ex. The cake, the vendors, the location, etc.

We are excited about everything!  We can’t wait to celebrate with our families.  

4.)   Where are you getting married?

 Our religious ceremony will take place at the Sikh Religious Society at Palatine.

5.)   Where is the reception?

Our reception will be taking place in Oak Brook at Drury Lane Conference Center.

6.)   What did you each wear to your session?

Anika choose a Lush Pink Spring Dress with wedges!

7.)   Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?

Just relax, be calm and enjoy the moment.  Time flies by!  

8.) How was your overall session experience?

Overall session was amazing.  Doru was great to work with and we had a blast taking photos!  Can’t wait to work with Doru and his wife at the wedding!!!

I think the second image above is my absolute favorite from the day. Just look at that chemistry! These two are going to be so much fun to photograph on their wedding day in August! Can’t wait!
