If there’s one thing you can count on at an Indian wedding, it’s that it’s going to be really, really colorful. And that it’s going to be a huge affair with a ton of loved ones. And that it’s going to last for many hours – even days. OK, that was three things… Seriously, though, We always feel so honored when We’re asked to photograph an Indian wedding, and Anika and Vishal’s wedding in August 2018 was certainly no exception. We took their engagement photos at Navy Pier and Lincoln Park in Chicago some time back.
The wedding was held over the course of 3 days and involved the bride and groom’s entire extended family and huge group of family and loved ones. I started at the Hilton Suites in Oak Brook where Anika was getting ready being helped by her mom, sister, and the bridesmaids. Claudia started in Palatine by the Gurdwara temple where Vishal, the groomsmen, and his family start to celebrate the wedding.
Here are images from the traditional wedding ceremony at Gurdwara ( Sikh Religious Society Chicago).
And here are some portraits from the photo session in a Palatine Park near Gurdwara.
The wedding celebration was to be continued at Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook the next day where everyone will dance and enjoy the beautiful couple presence.
From the bright and colorful festivities to the unquestionable love between these two, from the overflowing support from family and friends to that delicious food we got to try a bit of, it was a gorgeous celebration. Congratulations again, Vishal and Anika.
