Intimate Wedding at The Ritz Carlton Chicago with Phyllisa and Mike
I’ve photographed weddings at beaches, in churches, hotels, courthouses, backyards and barns, and there’s always something about heading to Chicago! It’s architecture and people gives me great inspiration and lots of energy! Today, we started with getting ready in the rooms at The Ritz Carlton. Phyllisa said that here wedding it was a magical moment with beautiful flowers, candles everywhere and so much love!
Phyllisa and Mike met at their kids daycare and love fall on them. Mike proposed at a romantic night at home under the Christmas tree after being together for 3 years. Phyllisa told us how she found the wedding dress: “I found it at Erika’s bridal in Neenah Wisconsin with my mom and best friend Dani, it was the last one I tried on, I immediately felt like a princess.”
The couple decided to do a first around the beautiful lobby at Ritz Carlton.
I find that one of the best things about small weddings is that they lend themselves to especially tender moments. They also somehow feel a little more at ease, and that’s exactly what the vibe was on this beautiful day in January.
The ceremony took place in a beautiful room facing the Michigan Lake.
