Palatine Engagement Photography

Just before winter stepped in Chicago area, I photographed Breanna and Brian at Deer Grove Forest Preserve in Palatine. This soon-to-be wedded couple will be getting married on November 2020. I am very excited about capturing their big day and I really love photographing at Royal Melbourne Country Club.

How did you meet?

We met through an online dating website. Our first date was in October 2015 at Maggiano’s in Naperville. The date was full of conversation and laughter as we got to know each other.

How did the proposal go?

Brian wanted to go on a walk at Deer Grove Forest Preserve with our dog, Cyclone. While on the walk he got down one knee and said, “Cyclone and I want to make our family official, will you marry me?” Without hesitation, I said yes! After the walk, we drove back to our house, little did I know he planned a surprise engagement party for me, inviting our closest family and friends.

Why did you decide on this location for your e-shoot?
We wanted the location to be special to us, so we decided Deer Grove Forest Preserve, the proposal location.
Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding the reception?
We are excited to be able to start the next chapter in our lives and share this wonderful memory with our family and friends. We look forward to creating a great party full of dancing!
Why did you choose these locations?
Brian is a golfer and wanted to get married at a golf course. We looked at many golf course options, and decided on Royal Melbourne Country Club. During our site visit, the whole time we could imagine our wedding there with all of our guests enjoying themselves and celebrating our special day. The venue is beautiful and the Catering Manager has been amazing to work with thus far and we are very excited about our special day there!
What kind of look were you going for at the engagement session?
We wanted to feel comfortable for our engagement session, so we decided on outfits that made us feel just that.
Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?
Just have fun and let the photographer direct you as needed. The photographer is a professional and knows what they are doing to ensure your photos look amazing!
What was your favorite part of the e-session?
Our favorite part was being able to take pictures with our dog, Cyclone. He is a big part of our lives and we wanted to make sure he could be included in some of the photos.
What is the name of your dog?
Our dog’s name is Cyclone. He is a German Shepard/Black Lab Mix. We adopted him in June 2018. He is our baby and he gets spoiled every day!
