Surprise Proposal on New Year Day in Woodstock IL
After a crazy 2020 here we are facing a New Year with new hopes!!
I’ve known Ryan for quite some time and I was so happy when he contacted me to capture his surprise proposal! Ryan decided for January 1st in Woodstock Square Square Historic District which is located in the county of McHenry and I was totally on board with it! I couldn’t wait to capture the Proposal with such beautiful background.
Here is a little info about the couple as I learned from Ryan:
Ally and Ryan met in August of 2017 at Southern Nazarene University which they both attended. They started dating in February of 2018 and haven’t turned back since!
For the proposal, Ryan knew he wanted to pick a place that was close to his home – with a cool aesthetic- and had lights and decorations. Woodstock Square immediately stood out to him as the perfect place to propose.
With Allyson living in Texas and him living in Illinois, he had to plan the proposal accordingly. He knew Ally would be visiting for the holidays and what better way to start off the new year!
Specific for NW Illinois, the weather had changed dramatically. Three days before, it was sunny and pretty warm and on January 1st we had a winter storm warning. Thank God Ryan was lucky enough to get the proposal right in time!!
