Bucktown Engagement Session in Fall
An engagement photo session is a fun way to keep the memories between you and your future partner. In fact, people often use their engagement photo to send out ‘Save The Date’ cards to their friends and family. It’s a great way to warm them up and invite them in to one of the most important dates of your life. I personally love taking engagement photos in the fall in Chicago. As most weddings happen during the spring or summer, you can start preparing for your wedding next year and take advantage of the beautiful fall now with a fun engagement photo session.
Why Have An Engagement Session?
You can really capture a beautiful moments when you’re in the fall that simply can not be expressed into words. Fall has beautiful colors to showcase, especially in Chicago. With Chicago’s unique landscapes and architecture, you are able to hold the moment in time forever. There are also a lot of fun things you can do during an engagement session. Many couples have special themes and inside jokes that they alone get to share with each other during the engagement session. It’s a very personal and connecting experience, which is a completely different feel for what you get on your wedding day itself.
Another important benefit to having your engagement photos taken in the fall is that you also have the opportunity to connect with your photographer. You want your photographer to be someone who understands you and can capture your best angles. Although we are trained to get it right the first time, every time, it’s a lot easier to know what the couple likes and doesn’t like during the engagement session. It’s also a great way to chat and get to know each other a bit better!
As you can see in these photos with Joe and Jessica, we played around with both colored and black and white photos. This helps give them an idea of what my style is like and it also helps me get a better idea of what they’d like to see on their special wedding day. They love exploring Chicago together, so we were able to capture special moments and locations that are meaningful to them. We had a chance to stop by the park and you can see the beautiful contrasting colors of the tress and them together on the park bench around the Roscoe Village area.
It was a lot of fun being able to talk about how they met, where they grew up, and what kind of wedding they’re planning together. These conversations might seem like small talk, but it’s a very important part of how a photographer gets their ideas and helps make their wedding that much special.
