Drury Lane Theater Wedding in Winter

A Magical Start to 2025:

Jenny and Ian’s Winter Wedding at Drury Lane

The year 2025 began with an enchanting winter wedding that perfectly captured the warmth of love amidst the crisp January air. Jenny and Ian celebrated their beautiful union on a day filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Having met them previously at two of their friends’ weddings—John and Mary’s and Efrem and Mauve’s—I was thrilled to photograph their special day.

The Day’s Journey

Our photography journey began early, with Ian getting ready at his home in East Dundee. He was surrounded by his groomsmen and his father, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. Meanwhile, Jenny prepared at her parents’ home in Elk Grove, where the emotions of the day began to unfold with heartfelt moments shared between her and her family. The excitement was palpable as she stepped into her stunning wedding gown, and we captured some heartfelt moments with her loved ones.

Jenny found her dream dress at Veiled by ChaCha in Glen Ellyn. After feeling overwhelmed at other bridal shops, she was relieved to find a place that made her feel special and understood. Her dress was simple, elegant, and modest—exactly what she envisioned.

The ceremony took place at the stunning St. Catherine of Siena in West Dundee. The church’s timeless beauty provided the perfect setting for Jenny and Ian to exchange vows surrounded by their loved ones. After the bridal party and flower girls as well ring bearers made their entrance Ian had the chance to see Jenny for the first time

The heartfelt ceremony was filled with love and meaningful traditions, making it a truly unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.

After the ceremony, we captured intimate portraits by the serene Fox River in West Dundee. The couple braved the winter chill with grace and elegance, resulting in breathtaking photos.

Next, the bridal party fun photos at Busse Woods brought out the joy and camaraderie of the day. The natural backdrop, combined with the light-hearted energy of the group, made for unforgettable moments.

The celebration continued at the Drury Lane Theater in Oak Brook Terrace. The venue’s festive Christmas decorations added a magical touch to the cocktail hour and reception. From heartfelt speeches to lively dancing, the evening was a true testament to the love Jenny and Ian share and the support of their family and friends.

A Closer Look at Jenny and Ian’s Love Story

Jenny and Ian’s journey together began online through Hinge. Ian proposed in a moment straight out of a romance novel—on top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. With a hidden photographer, champagne, and a charcuterie board, he made sure every detail was perfect.

Reflecting on their wedding, Jenny and Ian shared that their favorite part was having all their loved ones together in one place, knowing everyone was there to support them. They described the day as “beyond perfect,” grateful for good weather, the health of their guests, and the many moments that exceeded their expectations.

Jenny offered advice to future couples: “Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and add bits of your personality to your wedding!” She also emphasized the importance of making a photography shot list to ensure no moment or guest is missed. One highlight for them was the table photo dash, which guaranteed they had at least one photo with every guest.

Jenny and Ian’s wedding was filled with personal touches, from their first dance to “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait to the special parent dances. Jenny and her father danced to “Cotton Jenny” by Gordon Lightfoot, while Ian and his mother shared a moment to “Mom” by Garth Brooks.
