Dana and Ryan – City Winery Wedding Chicago
These two had a Covid Intimate Wedding Ceremony in 2020 at DL Loft Chicago but now it was time for the real wedding. Meanwhile, their family got richer with little baby girl Charli! We started with the getting ready and first look at Hotel Virgin.
I’ve photographed weddings at beaches, in churches, hotels, courthouses, backyards and barns, and there’s always something about heading into the big city that makes me giddy! After the first look Dana, Ryan and the bridal party went for wedding portraits around Chicago. Since it was rainy we did try our luck at Harold Washington Library, Union Station, Chicago Board of Trade and finished by Wrigley Building on Michigan ave. Tourists in Chicago were so happy to see the bride and groom and they cheered along the way!!
Some wedding photographers may not enjoy the whole city vibe because it means you have a lot more elements to deal with – such as bright orange cones or a sea of pedestrians – but I say bring it on! Which is EXACTLY what I did for Dana and Ryand’s recent wedding, which I photographed smack dab in the middle of Chicago.
The ceremony itself took place at City Winery Chicago and the reception was at the same place, which made for some really spectacular shots.
