Throughout the years, we have come to the realization that what makes us love photography in such a great measure is the privilege of being offered the key to open the subtle door of a person’s innermost emotions. What better time to sneak a peek at a couple’s absolute bliss than their engagement day, the very inception of their life as one?

In 2015 it was with great passion and elation that H Photography captured dozens of couples saying “Yes” to a future together. We felt humbled to be able to contemplate such adoring acts of love manifested, but also overjoyed knowing that they would soon be shared with others – family, friends, acquaintances, who otherwise would have never been able to witness these blissful moments. What a privilege for us not only to experience such personal moments, open to just a few, but also to leave our distinctive touch by creating unique engagement pictures that would carry the emotion of the day in the years to come.

Whether it be in the quiet Chicago suburbs or in the ever bustling, vibrant Chicago downtown, whether surrounded by autumnal gold colors or breathing in the delicate fragrance of spring, the uniqueness of one’s engagement day is created not only by the varied settings or the skills of the photographers alone, but by the courage to abandon pre-established ideas and embrace the purest expressions of love as evidenced in each couple, while sensitive to the chemistry between them.

Playing off of light and textures, we let our engagement photos be filled with fine details – a glistening hope in the eyes of the enamored man, a confident, yet unsettled demeanor as to what reaction he might elicit from his chosen one, the trembling hand of the future bride that finds its rest in the strong and simultaneously soothing hold of her fiancée, the reunited regard toward the horizon in delicate anticipation of the future together, every subtlety receiving importance through the wide opening of our lenses.
